Linux/ubuntu runnig wow

yes, but not in a way like native linux programs
it needs to be installed (and run) via WINE, but it gives very good performance

While these are Gentoo-specific "tweaks" there are some handy hints on howto get the most performance out of WoW via WINE (like changing the niceness and running in in anotehr Xserver)

WoW runs a hell of alot better in WINE then Cedega these days
 
I cannot tell you how valid the following comment is, this is just a rumour I've heard:

The WoW "hack detection" tool will detect Cedega/Wine as an invalid 3rd party app and will flag your account to be banned/suspended.

If anyone can confirm/deny this please let me know.

it did (and it was cedega not wine) but those accounts were unbanned and what caused it fixed
