Linux SFF?

I'm looking to build myself a little server (web server, file server, etc), and I'm wondering if any of these SFF boards are supported by Linux.

Ideally I think a mini itx solution would be great, but I could go micro atx if I can't find what I'm looking for in the itx. Pretty much my only requirements are gigabit LAN (don't need dual) and a SATA controller. Onboard video and sound are fine.

apologies for the old thread.

Any modern distro will act just fine on any SFF out there. Just make sure you get the most recent version of whatever distribution you want.

Not so true, I have a MSI RS480M2-IL that makes all the latest distro's barf and I have been unsuccessful in getting Linux installed on my sff. My system components are:

Silverstone SG01, MSI RS480M2-IL, AMD A64 X2 4400+, Silverstone NT03 HSF, Corsair Twinx2048-3200Pro, XFX Geforce 7800GTX, 2 Samsung Spinpoint 200GB SATA HD's in Raid 0, ATI TV Wonder Elite and a Plextor PX-716A DVD-RW.

I've heard others have been successful getting linux installed using this motherboard but I'm still stuck and can't get up.

I can confirm that Linux works on Shuttles - SN95G5 and SN25P models.

If I plan them to be Linux systems, they get nVidia cards. Period.

I've successfully used:

Suse 9.3
Kubuntu
Fedora Core 3/4
Knoppix

I am using Ubuntu 5.10 on a MSI KM4AM-V (flex ATX) with a Pally 1800+. All drivers were in the distribution and it runs very nice

Im running Mandriva 10.1 on my Shuttle SB65G2 (Intel 865, P4 2.8). It runs perfectly.

just to give you other options, you could get a mac mini. Pretty easy to find for around 399$ OSX is just a "prettied" up BSD.
