Hey I had this stupid question if I installed Linux on a Mac air would I still have the long battery life like a normal Mac or does it not work like that?

Sorry I feel like this question should be common knowledge but I just don't know.
If you can help me out thanks in advance.

Wouldn't stop you from just running Linux in a VM. My friend runs Windows 7 and Linux in VM's on his macbook air and he just uses a 4 finger swipe to move from one to the other. His battery life is just fine.

Yeah you wouldn't want to bother with boot camp.. I would just run it as a virtual machine. I like Oracle VirtualBox the most.

Parallels and VMWare Fusion student editions are cheap enough too. I just haven't had great luck with Virtual Box. I used Fusion when I first got my Mac, two months before Lion, and VMWare refused to allow me to upgrade. I told them to piss off and got Parallels instead.
I'm sure that VMWare is in financial turmoil because of my decision, but at least I feel better.
