I really like the antialiased fonts used in Linux Mandrake compared to the ones used in Win2000. I am wondering, if I get Win XP, and use the cleartype option, if I will get an improvement on my home CRT. The improvement on work PC and LCD is great.

Also, is there a way to approximate the linux fonts in a windows system? A place to download?

Thanks.

ClearType doesn't mix well with CRTs. ClearType's anti-aliasing works by putting some red on the left and some blue on the right (or vice versa). Naturally, on a CRT, this isn't very good. It varies from person to person, I suppose, but it gives me a headache using it. I prefer all-black AA.
