Have noticed that my

Linux SMP Clients are getting 1450+PPD
Windows XP Client are getting 1200+ PPD

Is this difference just from the different OS's or something else?

Systems are the same , excerpt the Xp system has 1GB more Ram and in dual channel mode

I would say it's because since the projects being assigned to either Win or Linux are exactly the same, the differences has to be the OS itself, one must being more well better than the other in terms of Folding. Linux apparently leads in the field so far when compared to Mac OS and Windows.

Yes. Linux 64 is more efficient. Here is my experience:

The SMP client was first writen for the Linux OS.
Only after Stanford got it working under a Linux-64 bit OS did it get rewriten to work on a Windoze-32 bit OS.

As long as I get the quick Linux protiens then ................
A straight swop from Windoze to Linux on my C2D's gives me ~200 PpD more per Linux Client.
A swop from Windoze to 2x Linux VM's on my Quads gives me ~400 PpD more per VM Client.
I'm running 6x straight Linux clients & 12x VM Linux clients.
6x 200 + 12x 400 = 6,000 PpD gian ................
Thats around the same as one of my Dual-Quads running 4 VM's.

Luck ........... :D
