I bought an E8400 and after about a year it started randomly locking up. It wouldn't even log in with a Ethernet hardline to the router main page. It would do this several times a day, drop the signal, and then restart like nothing happened.

I did a factory reset and everything. It just would not stay stable.

I called tech support to do a warranty exchange. They gave me the run around. I got so frustrated I just hung up on them after 30 minutes of following the tech support repeating everything I did already to diagnose it.

I posted a negative review of the router on Linksys's website and THEY REFUSED to post it. Seems other people are having the same problems. Obviously it's a design defect.

This is my 4th Linksys product. WRT-B, WRT-54G, E7800n and this E8400AC (The first actual Belkin model) Only the last one gave me a fit.

I replaced it with a Netgear R7800 X4S nighthawk and it was such an upgrade in terms of features and performance. It cost a lot less to boot.
