linkage in sig doesnt work

I tried putting a link as so in my sig:

My Mods
(URL=http://www.hardforum.com/showthread.php?p=1026126329#post1026126329)My Mods(/URL)

with the ( ) replaced by [ ], though it just stayed in that form and did not make a hyperlink.

Is linking intentionaly disabled?

i'm pretty sure it is. i think just smilies are allowed. some people would abuse bbcode if it were allowed in the sigs

Someone out there would find a way to exploit them - they do it to nuke based sites, why not vBulletin? too much time on thier hands...
