Didn't see this in the FAQ, and a search didn't find a thread that looked promising.

Why is it that clicking on the link in the first post of a thread on a front page news item takes you to a [H]ard page that repeats what was in the first post of the thread on the front page news item? Why not directly to whatever the thread is about?
