Limited to 255 FSB - WHY?!

My spec is:
AMD 64 3000+
1024Mb PC3200 Corsair RAM
Gigabyte K8NS PRO

I've overclocked my processor to 10x240 and have set a ratio of 5:4 (by adjusting the speed thing from 200 to 166) so my RAM runs at its normal speed - I've adjusted its timings tho so its 2.5-3-3-8. I've also increased the voltage of the CPU to 1.550v. This setup works perfectly stable.

My problem is when I tried to overclock further. I lowered my RAM to 150 so I could increase my processor speed more, I then set the processor to 260x10 and saved to CMOS and exitted. The comp reset but when it came back on everything has been reset to normal (for example the FSB was back at 200 and the RAM had been changed back). I tried upping the voltage to 1.6 and then 1.7 but the same thing keeps happening - the maximum I can get the FSB to without the problem is 255  . What is going wrong ?!

Help would be very much appreciated!

because thats just the limitation of your ram i would guess
and 133 isnt the normal speed of your ram. you have PC3200 thats DDR400 so 200 is the normal speed. but you were right in trying to lower it, that should allow you to raise the fsb higher.
try VCore at 1.6v (cpu voltage) keep the vdimm at 2.7 anything less wont work well.
change your HTT to 3 if its at 4 right now. if its at 5 right now make it 4
also are you using SATA ? is it raid or not ? if your using SATA then that limits you severly. try grabbing a SATA PCI card. once you do that that , disable the onboard sATA and that will free up some of your overclocking.

but also remember running PC3200 at 250 makes it PC4000 so unless you have really good corsair your gunna be limited.
if its corsair value ram then your lucky you got to 250. i have some value corsair that wont even go to 220.

Id imagine the chipset cant handle that FSB. Even though the memory is running on a divider and the CPU isnt being stressed too much, the rest of the mobo components are trying to running 260 and cant. My old A7N8X board couldnt do more than 211FSB no matter what you did. Like anything in overclocking, its the luck of the draw.

Ditto the above poster. If the board is resetting, your overclock failed, and your board has got some sort of 'overclock' protection so you don't have to reset your CMOS every time.
