If anyone saw the case modding link on the front page yesterday the Lightwriter case fans should have caught your eye during the video. Check out this link if you don't know what I'm talking about:

I did some research on these case fans and apparently they are not available in the US. If anyone overseas has access to a fairly large quantity of these fans, PLEASE PM me and I would be glad to sell them off to fellow HardOCP'ers at cost.

Those are pretty awesome. A US supplier would definetly be a plus. But I'm sure there are companies that would pick that up if you told them about it, and tried hard enough.

Now what we really need, is the specs...

Finally, an excuse to run the finger choppers unprotected

Did they have integrated speed controllers, so they would still show words? I can see my fanmate seriously messing up the synch, but I hate loud fans.

(offtopic: Gaah! Ads on the side!)

Send a message to the guys at FrozenCPU... that seems like it would be right up their alley... although they'd probably charge a lot for them. They import several items in their inventory from overseas and could probably hook up something.

Or write to the company that sells them. You may have to send funds in whatever the local currency there is and it would probably cost a lot to ship them, but they may be willing to export them.

I am going to e-mail frozencpu and find out if they would be interested in getting some of these in. I'll let you guys know how it goes.

*Update* FrozenCPU has something similar to this that they just added TODAY! Heres a link:
Sharkoon Rainbow Fan

I only wish these were hooked up to a temp probe that read CPU temps and not case temp... Perhaps a mod is possible...

I'd love to see someone mod this onto a Zalman 7000CU...holy crap that would be cool :p

Lol, they probably are expensive though..

$20 per fan from frozen cpu? Not that cool.
$20 is a good price if it had customizable text. The FrozenCPU ones definetly do not.

Now all I need to go with my fan that says "COOL" would be ones that said "RAD", "AWESOME" and "GROOVY"

(Yes, I know they are using cool in a temperature sense, but that's not what it makes me think of)

Still... look at the numbers... if you're really in the market for an 80mm fan, have the money to blow, and want a real eye catcher... it's not too bad.

2250 RPM
19 CFM
28 dB

Sure, that airflow is kinda low but I'd figure all the extras installed on that thing would have made it MUCH louder at 2250 RPM.
