Does anyone have experience with using LED's for ambient light?

The most versatile seems to be Lightpack, which requires an OS that's compatible with Prismatik. There are a couple old reviews on Gizmodo AU, The Verge, and Tweaktown, but their Kickstarter was a success.

Looking for anyone that has used their product for input. Also, for a 65" TV does it require 2 x Lightpacks?

The FAQ mentions that the product doesn't support OpenGL in DirectX 11 yet, which is a disappointment for gaming. Another downside is that it won't work with DirecTV or Dish, since the HTPC is required.

The product is on Amazon with only one review.

Are there any good alternatives that utilize LED, change colors, and doesn't require an OS? It seems like HDMI protocol decryption is a pipe dream for these small companies, but a USB port on a smart TV could be a good option.

You can try Adalight. Its like lightpack but all the processing is done by a Adruino.
