What PSU would be the lightest being reliable as well?

Must be 500w and above.

How fragile is a PSU when used for traveling? I need a strong built but also light....

take a look at the X-650 and X-750 from Seasonic. I'd think that the lack of Heatsinks on it would make it pretty light.

A well-built PSU shouldn't have any problems with traveling as long as it doesn't get knocked around excessively.
