Lifetime warranties?

i am aware that some videocard companies have lifetime warranties (BFG in particular) and i was wondering since i am buying a BFG 6800GT OC from a forumer here if the warranty then transfers to me. is there some sort of procedure to transfer the name? sorry but the BFG website didnt offer much help (or i just cant read properly). thanks in advance
