Yeah, like everybody, I just can't decide.

Here's the deal. Newbie looking at my first-time build, so I want something that'll be easy to work with. Cost is some consideration, but not the only consideration. The choices linked below are my price range.

I'd like a side window, and 120mm fans for the cooling. Not a bigtime gamer so I will not have a huge video card taking up a lot of space.

Primarily looking at an IP35 Pro, an E6850, and a Tuniq Tower for cooling.

For a case then, I'm considering a PC-V1000 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811112118)
or a TJ09 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811163073)

Ideas on these? I know they are both excellent, and both have a fanbase.

That's a pretty good price on the Lian Li.

What about other possibilities? Any cases I should also be looking at? Coolermaster, Antec, etc?

Unless you need the space... I wouldn't bother with such a big case. Unless you are going to upgrade ALOT in the next while. Have you even seen how large those cases are?

How many drives will you be running?

Lian Li and Silverstone have really nice smaller cases. I'd check those ones out first.
 
These are the exact same two i was considering last time i was in the market for a case (along with the TJ-07). I went for the TJ-09 and have no regrets.

You are right about that, and that is good advice. No, I won't be filling up those cases, so maybe a smaller one would be better for me.

Time to do some more research!

I had a v1000 and then moved to a TJ-09 for one simple reason, space...

My PC P&C PSU ate up way to much space in the bottom HDD area, and after moving my tubing around and putting all my blocks in the main area didn't have much space for tweaking things. Any sort of upgrade or reconfigure became a massive undertaking.

Now, before I slapped in all that extra stuff the v1000 had more then enough space. And with the new stuff I put in it (media server with lots of HDD's) it's fine.

But for water cooling, the TJ-09 has it beat hands down.
 
Although I agree that these cases are large, I still think you should get one. I used to only buy mid tower cases, and working in the TJ09 and the TJ06 was pure joy, there is just so much room to work with, hiding cables, etc... becomes a lot easier. What you have to ask yourself now is which one do you prefer? Which has better cooling potential, etc...? I love the TJ09 and like others have said, have no regrets. It's a stunning case to look at and to work with!
 
IMO:

you'll be happier than a pig in shit with either case. they are both well crafted beautiful cases that are an absolute joy to work with.
