Hey all,

I just ordered the Lian Li V2120X from Newegg yesterday. I won't be able to get my hands on it for another 3 weeks but I have some important questions for anyone who has seen or owns the case.

1) Does the motherboard tray come with cable management holes or not? Newegg photos say no (other than the tiny holes at the bottom of the mobo tray) but some reviews show a nice arrangement of holes with rubber grommets.

2) Will a standard ATX sized motherboard like the X58A-OC look ridiculously tiny in the case?

That particular mobo happens to match my build perfectly in terms of color and design, but the size may look awkward in such a behemoth case. I think an XL ATX mobo would be the perfect size, but I've only seen the EVGA X58 4-way SLI board (no USB 3.0 or SATA 6) and the Gigabyte G1 Assassin (expensive and absurdly ugly). Should I perhaps go for the E-ATX Rampage III Extreme? It's an inch wider but has the same height.

3) Does the back plate have 3 water cooling holes or 2? Again, Newegg photos differ from certain reviews:

i think either way you go, some work will need to be done to the case as it is made to accomodate HPTX mobos. i mean even with an XL-ATX, it looks like based off the standoffs that it's still gonna sit a couple inches off the midplate.

if you have the money to buy this case, then you'd prob have the money to do a little modding. i'd suggest modding the back panel somehow, either create a new one with a PCI bracket from an old case or something, and at the very least, bring the midplate up to where the mobo ends. that way, you get a lot more room to work with on the bottom for pumps, res, rads etc.

are you gonna even have a window though?
 
Window is debatable right now. I'm going to leave the side panel as is for a while and see if I really want that window or not.

I am probably going to move the midplate up, but it would still look a lot better with an XL-ATX mobo than with a regular ATX I think. I'm just wondering if there are other good choices for larger-than-ATX X58 mobos.
