I cannot find any big posts on this one yet so i thought i would start one =)

here are a couple links about the it

AnandTech Review

I just thought i would for ask some opinions on this case. I was debating getting this one or the model before it the v2010b.

I had a couple questions about this. If anyone has it do you know if it will fit the Creative SB X-Fi Platinum. The only worry I have is that I have a case with a door on it right now and it will not close =/. The knobs from the X-Fi are too big to have the door close. But what I can see from the pictures it looks like the door might be have more space than the one I have now. Can anyone confirm this?

thanks

Supposed to be a good case. I can't comment on the sound card, though.

I believe it's one of a few cases that Lian Li doesn't sell any mods for to increase exhaust outlets, which could be a problem for some builds. Check into that further.

If you just like cases with a door, check out the A7110. It's an update to the A71b, and more expensive. Basically they only added hot-swap options and a different door for the extra $50-100. If you don't care about hotswapping, and don't think the slightly spiffier door is worth the extra cheddar, then go for the A71b or the V21110.

yeah i have looked into the exhaust problem, they do have an accessory that hooks on to the top middle pannel that is supos to increase areflow throughout the top half of the case. They also said that there is no intake fan for the top which could also be a problem but im not quite sure if it will be a huge problem. Im also debating whether to go WC or not it is always an option =P

Right. Lian Li seems to focus heavily on huge positive pressurization, imo. This, combined with their eclectic fan strategy can make planning a watercooling build difficult with some of their cases. Especially if you're like me, and prefer to radiate heat out away from the case, rather than breathing hot air in or simply radiating it out into the middle of the case.

For instance, several of their cases have 3x 120mm fans breathing in, and only 1x 120 mm breathing out. Very few have any kind of solution for mounting a 3x120 mm rad anywhere but inside the case. You can do a PA 160 on one of the exhausts and internal mount a 3x120mm, or external mount the 3x120 vertically (drawing through the 1x120mm exhaust and sticking off the rear of the case) and mount another rad in the case.

The Lian Li cases are a bit unusual in their internal layouts and fan strategies, as well. Some cases have 140mm intakes. Others have 120mm intakes...but spread out, so you can't get a single large radiator behind them (even if you want to blow hot air into your case...).

One of their newer cases has 2x80mm fans at the bottom, which blows me away in a $500+ offering.

All of this is not by way of saying that it can't be done, but simply that while Lian Li pays more attention than other manufacturers to some aspects of the design process, they also tend to require a bit more planning on the users part to effectively impliment watercooling builds.

ah ah, that is very good information for me.

Anyways it was just a thought i wasnt very serious about it, but i could be lol =P

V2110 is 3cm bigger in depth than V2010 so there's probably about 2.5cm/1" of space behind door.
Like this shows depth of door is rather big:

They also said that there is no intake fan for the top
Lot of holed area in 5.25" bay covers=low impedance intake.
Adding fans in series doesn't rise maximum achievable airflow but can push same airflow through doubled impedance. (replacing rear fan's hole mesh with normal wire grill is better way for rising airflow without rising noise)
Also this optional fan draws air away from just right place:

If you just like cases with a door, check out the a70b. The a71b is it's more expensive uptdate, but basically they only added hot-swap options and a different door...
Would you mind at least checking numbering before posting?
A71 is same as A70 but with door. Versions with HDD quickswap racks are A7010 and A7110.
(10 added to end, like in new models of V-serie)

Also Lian Lis with normal motherboard position are hardly positive pressure cases... but they could probably be well made as such, thanks to solid "tunnel" design instead of holes everywhere.

I would, actually. There's a reason most marketing people try to steer companies away from letter-number naming schemes for their products. They're retarded.

What are you talking about man? The V2x00 series was one of the best cases for serious water cooling builds. You buy a 5.25" hard drive enclosure or hot swap deal and you can fit a PA120.3 and PA120.2 in the bottom chamber easily, even with a huge power supply. I even saw one guy stuff two 120.3s in the bottom of one with a regular sized ATX PSU.

You do have to cut holes for ventilation, but it's a small price for such radiator capacity. The 2010/2110 will be about the same deal, except the holes you'll have to cut won't be so large. Basically the same setup as a lot of people do with the Silverstone TJ-07. You can also do a PA120.3/PA120.2 combo in a PC-A77.

Right...so I have to cut holes in the bottom of my $250-350 case to do somethiing that the manufacturers of $150-250 cases often plan for from the get-go, ie: where to mount a rad.

What I find myself curious about, btw, is if I could put the A7110 door on the A71b's mounts. That door is much sexier, imo.

Well, if you got the cash! They're supposed to run $500+.

Personally, I find that case annoying for the 2x 80mm fans that are on exhaust detail at the bottom. 80mm fans?!? wtf. Besides, I don't run that many HDs, so I'd probably want to reduce their fan speed to near nil, if possible.

~S

PS- Also, imo, that looks like a difficult case to water-cool.

yeah your right i think the other one is too expensive...

I had another question about the v2110... i heard somewhere that not all modular psu cables will fit this case... has anyone had any experience with this??

thanks
