My current gaming rig is housed in a black anodized PC-V354 SFF case. I've owned several Li Li's over the years, but this is my first SFF. Of course, the physical dimentions limit some airflow, as I'm running a closed-loop water cooler for the CPU, and an aftermarket cooler for my HD6950, which makes it a three-slot monster. (So much for my sound card. Oh well, it was time to retire it anyway, as the on-board of my MSI MB sounds better anyway). Also, I have a bit of OCD, an like to open it up a couple times a month to vaccuum out the dustbunnies, an this case is a PITA. You basically have to dismantle pretty much the whole thing JUST to get at the GPU.

Anyway, I am looking for a little inspiration on cable management an layouts of your SFF cases. Of course, I'm using a modular PSU, but I would like to hear of any tricks/tips any of you might have to improve airflow. Pics would help, as well! I may have this thread posted in the wrong section, so pardon if it is an please bump. Thanks!

I had that same exact case, silver version. I tucked much of the extra cable length up in the upper hdd cage. Other than custom short cables, wrapping them up tight and packing them up there or just above and below the PSU are good methods of managing cable clutter and allowing decent air flow,

I've done as much as I think I can with stuffing the cables in the cage as you've mentioned. Also, I scrapped the lower cage, of course to make room for the GPU, an also because I have my radiator on the lower front fan mounting, with two fans in push/pull configuration. I thought that was the best place to flow air directly to the video card.

Is there anywhere you know of that specializes in custom-length modular cables? I tried my hand at making them some time ago with another computer, with a non-modular psu, an ended up ruining an scrapping the psu. I obviously messed something up, an my soldiering skills are lacking.

Also, I was thinking about getting rid of the HDD cage altogether, as I'm going to leave out the DVD drive, (never use it, an if I need to, I have a USB drive I can use to install what I need, when I need it). As for the hdd, I plan on soon going strickly SSD an mounting it on the floor with some 3M. That right there should clean it up in there quite a bit, but I would still like to have some short custom modular cables. Though my Corsair AX850 is modular, the cables are still quite long for the space, as you well know.

As for modding the case itself, I found a lighted button rocker switch that fits snugly in that grommet on the back that turns on/off the l.e.d. strips I have on the bottom of the case, like an underglow. Looks great! Other than that, just getting rid of the side panel screws that get lost easy an replaced them with thumbscrews which I ground down very short...half a turn on each, an the side panel is off. I recommend that one for anyone with this case. So much easier an faster than those tiny 8 machine screws that disappear into the carpeting. lol
