I really could not see how someone who has owned a Lian Li could ever buy another computer case again. I received one today and started a few small things and just fell in love. The case is huge and weighs a lot less than any mid tower (steel) I have ever worked with. I cannot wait to really get some things done with this case.

So far I did a few small things and they were a breeze aluminum is so much nicer to work with than steel!

Still trying to round up some U-channel MNpctech has it but 10 dollars shipping kills the deal for me.

Minor amount of cable work done, not really organized but the holes are cut and the cables shoved through them. I was impatient today because I injured my finger at work pretty badly and didn't take pain medicine this morning because I did not want a mishap with the dremel.

I would post a pic of my thumb but it would probably be frowned upon by the admins so I will forgo the gory pics. Stay tuned though cause upon healing this case will get a complete workover.

Nice job so far! :) You're much braver than I am with cutting up your Rocketfish. I have babied mine ever since I got it as it is the nicest case that I have ever owned. :D

You know I have owned the stacker 832, antec p180, cm690, and a iknonik zaria and this case gets my vote out of all of them. Maybe not as feature rich as some but the all aluminum body is just filled with win sauce for me.

Yeah that case is beautiful. Here are a few pictures of what I have done to mine.

I've modded the hell out of mine but I also got mine for 50 bucks clearance from best buy lol.

Oh thats nice, how did you get the front panel apart to paint the silver part red.

Oh that was a big giant pain in the ass. I never really got the front panels off.

I just covered the black area with blue painters tape.and ever so gently painted the rest with red spraypaint.

Then because of the holes in the side collecting the paint (and the reason it collected paint is becuse when I say gently spray painting, I meant oversaturating ;) )................... I had to take a small piece of scouring pad and clean it up a bit.

It wasn't as bad as trying to cut that front hole for the fan grill. I didn't realize that I was going to be going through 2 pieces of metal. It's 1 piece slapped onto another.

If you want to paint the front I suggest doing this..............

http://www.overclock.net/case-mods-...cketfish-door-panels-removal-help-please.html (post 18 talks about cooking the panel in the oven lmfao).

They stuck the front door in an oven and popped the two panels off. Which is what I'm going to do when I rework the case after a little while.

Hope that helps. :)

EDIT:

BTW, when you put it back on you can use any double sided tape you want but I'd suggest using Scotch Double Sided Tape (Clear) Model #4010. That stuff is strong as hell and the only double sided tape I'll use.

didn't use an oven but it was a bitch to get off; its held on with pass-through screws and some nasty doublesided tape. Took mine off to paint, (and unfortunately in LAN event movements its become scratched already...) but eeh as is the nature of the beast. Ooh and nevermind the finger prints, I have a 1 year old assistant and frankly I'm happy finger prints is all she's managed to put on/in my PC at this point. ;)

Where the heck did you get one??? I thought these things stopped being made a long time ago.

I posted a WTB thread for it, and I got lots of offers, people got impulsive when these things arrived on the scene and bought them all up. Other people, like the guy I got it from just moved on. I can say I am thirilled to have gotten one.

Someone should slap an easy bake oven on thier case and make some cookies while they play/work.

same here. weird thing is that it's the cheapest case i've ever had too. centurion 5 ($62), 690 ($55 AMIR), and this case ($53).

man what a steal. i kicked myself for putting in the bulky motherboard to see which holes to line up with and the solder scratched the aluminum under the board :(

I'm addicted to the damn Lian Li cases. Hell, I've purchases Lian Li cases and just have them sitting around because I liked the way it looked. I think my favorite will always be the PC-60USB.
