Hi,

I'm pretty much decided on my new case for my new rig, the Lian Li PC-V2000BplusII.

But i give myself a last "chance" to find a better one... And it's up to you almighty nerds!!! (not an insult, coming from a nerd lol)

Do you guys know a case without a drive bay door, GREAT air flows(the lian li aire flow is amazing), full tower (me wants biiiig!) and black of course

At first i was hesitating between the lian li and the TJ07(silverstone) but the air flow of the lian li finally sold me to it...

So any case better before i place my command on ncix? :p
 
Great case, but MASSIVE.

If you want something a bit smaller, consider the PC-G50B. I moved my fileservers into two of these.
 
I would recommend ordering it from Performance PCs instead...you'll want handles installed on this thing, trust me.

I was going to order mine from NCIX as well, but a friend of mine talked me into getting it from PPCs with handles, and I'm glad he did. My arms are a good 2ft long, ending at my wrists that is, and even with monkey arms like these, I can't pick this beast up conventionally. The handles are handy (pun intended :cool: )

Youre crazy Doom. i tell you that everytime, but i dont find it overly heavy. :p or overly large... but the side panel's CAN be brutal if you hold them wrong (ridges :p ) <--- i build his rig in this case :p

its a wonder to work in. i loved it :p our long SATA cables were DOA though... so we had to use shorty ASUS ones... 0_0

thanks for the input, but i want something big, tired of working in tiny cases.... plus this case can also be a table :D (kidding!)

The handles would destroy the look no? I don't go to LAN or move my computer at all, there's the occasional tipping on the side to work in it that's all, There's wheels, I'll put a chainsaw motor in it, it'll be great :D (kidding again :p)
In the bottom of the case, in front, trough the mesh you can see the fan mount(aluminum) is it visible a lot, ugly? If so i'll paint it black

you also think it's worth getting the handles? DOA? Dead or alive? Dead on arrival? What is this acronym lol? What's the problem with the side panel?


Also from PPCs i could get drive bay cover meshed like the rest of the case, would it look better or seeing the inside aluminum mount would destroy the looks?

I'm trying to decide between this case and the Stacker 832.

I'm thinking the 832 would prob be noisier but run cooler than the LL due to the mesh sides and 4 fan side panel option.

The other thing I'm thining about is a clear side (LL) compared to the mesh (832).

I think the mesh would look better when the machine was off (hiding the inside) yet still allow you to see the blinging inside when it is on, where as if you had the clear side option on the LL it looks great when it's on and glowing but not so great when it's off.

Any opinions on noise levels would be great

DOA=Dead on arrival. The side panels have little ridges running along the edges, so it's easy to cut yourself if you get careless.

The handles, IMO, don't ruin the look of the case. Here some pics of my case while my rig was being built.

imo.... a computer with handles is weird... :eek: lol sorry for "insulting" your case... if i start moving it a lot, i'll simply become a bodybuilder lol

I'm currently looking at ideas for cabling/hiding stuff and the fun part is, i wont take a windowed case lol... it's only for my eyes *porn* lol :cool:

Hmm. I have a problem choosing cases like you. I really like the V2000b, but im not sure if it is rational for me to spend that much on a case. If you have the money, I'd get it. But not those mesh drive bay covers, as I think it looks perfect without those.

my money is only waiting to be spend.... also waiting for ati to release their r600 to build the system in my signature... grrr
 
Maybe the mesh case version does a little better, but I don't think Lian Li has any better airflow than the average case. IMO, the ratio of holes vs. sheet metal for their full towers is worse than the Antec P180 or even the old chenming cases. I'll post pictures of a lian li case I modded recently for increased airflow =).

I saw a review that showed a good difference...

It's not necessary the mesh that makes the case good, but the way the air moves inside the case, for an exemple the TJ07 with the fan setup it has you can create a really powerfull airflow in it and also changing the complete air movement by switching the fan from one side of the HDD rack to the other

since i'll have only three, i'll place them in a triangle (first rack middle, second rack top and bottom) so they'll all have airflow...

I have the sheetmetal brother of this case, the 2100, and I lovoe it. Such an amazing case to work with. Only wish I has known about the lack of room for hiding cables behind the CD drives before I put half my stuff in. Oh well, It only took my a few hours to unmount and remount my parts, lol.

I could have kept 3 HD's in each rack with the Rad, but I opted for two for less air restriction directly after the fans (using PA series rad with 38MM fans...).

Can't wait to get this thing up and running,
 
I saw in one of Antec's case, rubber band to mount the drives which eliminates all vibration and sounds from it(except the ones coming from inside it obviously). Do you know if/where i can get those separately(without the case...) because i'm sure it would be a great addition to the Lian Li :D.
