So Im looking to buy this case mainly because of how big it is and its style. I just have 1 problem and hopefully some can help me with it. I want to put a heatsink in here but am unsure what will and will not fit. I was looking along the lines of Thermalright Ultra-120 Extreme CPU Heatsink.

The sheet that runs along the middle is what worries me on if the heatsink would fit or not. Anyone know if people have used one of these before or know of any heaetsinks that work with this, without having to mod? Looking for some feedback as well if people have or know people who have this case and are liking it.

Any CPU cooler you want should fit in that case....The divider in the middle is just keep the drives and power supply separate from the heat of the GPU CPU It should not hinder your choices at all But your motherboard may......

Some hs's come very close to touching the divider.

Check this pic HERE. I believe thats a TRUE 120

Actually I believe on the V2000 they switched the mobo back to the other side. There was a post on here with a video I will try to dig it up later.

Also by the looks and what I was told I think that is a V1000.

The v2000s mobo tray is on the left side, The new case coming soon, The v2010, Will have the mobo tray on the right side.

You know I have the same case and it really depends where the CPU socket on the motherboard is...that being say I had to mod my case in order to fit an SI-128 SE in it with a EVGA 680i. So good luck.

I have a V2100 similar to V2000, but could not fit zalman 9700 without hitting the divider on evga 780i mobo. I had to go with zalman 9500.

I'm wondering if the V2010 will be wider than the v2000. I know the orientation of the mobo will be on the other way on it this time.

Flak how much of a mod did you have to do? Was it anything drastic?

Also, want to mention I have an EVGA 680i

I know for a fact that the V1000/V2100/V2000 series will NOT properly fit a TRUE 120 on a 680i or 780i motherboard.

The problem is the 680i/780i motherboard, both of which have the CPU socket very high on the board itself (or in the case of the Lian Li's inverted design, very low on the board). You can fit the TRUE 120 on there but you'll have to turn it sideways AND you have to place the fan on the top of the HSF since there is not enough room to put the fan on the bottom (i.e. the side with the divider plate).

Because of this, I switched to a Zalman 9700 . . . which didn't fit either. Even the 9700 had to be turned sideways.

In either event, my CPU temps rose about 6-10*C due to the HSF not being able to be installed the "right" way. I started a thread about this very problem and will track it down and edit the link into this post later.

edit:

Here is the link to my earlier thread. This was a V1000b Plus II - but the V2000 is pretty much the same in the mobo area (the rest of the case may be bigger but the space in the mobo area is the same - which is REALLY retarded given how much room they have to work with in the V2x00 series cases).
