Lian Li PC-V1020

Depends what are you going to use it for. It's going to be expensive, $320+

Water cooling is limited and the front fans are restricted which means average air cooling.

We should hear some updated news on the TJ11 soon, I hope.

I don't so much like the mesh on it because it takes away from the smooth alum. design. On the other hand the X900 is one of the best looking cases I've ever seen. The X900 would probably have better cooling as well.

I made a thread about it before here:

http://hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=1544778

I'm disappointed because now that the official page for the case is up the actual dimension are much different than they previously stated and the case is much talller than the old V1000 series case.

V1000: 210mm x 490mm x 550mm (W, H, D)

V1020: 220mm x 562mm x 505mm (W, H, D)

Two inches taller and uses 140mm fans now instead of the 120mm shown previously. I'm going to have to pass on this one.

For a case of that size the X900 makes much more sense.

Wish Lian Li would get with the program in regards to painting the inside of all their cases.

I think the x900 is the better choice too, over the new v series. I still want to see that TJ11, but I'm not sure I need such a big case unless I watercool, which is looking unlikely. Did not like the depth, chipping paint, and HD caddies on the ft02-wri, and I'm real interested in that raven 3 however.

i have a v1000b w plus2 and this looks like it solved many of the v100's problems, ie wacky ventilation, lack of hdd space (most guys removed the middle hd rack), blowhole on top, 2 front fans, etc. the 140mm fans probably suck (just like ll 120mm fans) but you are starting to see some 140mm fans around with a little power that you can use to replace them. i dont know about the added height , prob could have added an inch or 2 in depth instead.

Yep, exactly. I had to add a blowhole to my V1000 and an extra fan to the front via a 3 bay Lian Li fan module.

I'm waiting for an actual hands on review of this case because I find it hard to believe they didn't anodize the inside of the black case. I know the red one is black.

And I'm willing to bet there is enough metal on the fan mounts in the front and up top that you could mount 120mm fans there after drilling a few holes. Either that or use a 140mm--->120mm adapter plate.

My trusty old V1000B. Now sitting out in the garage on a shelf collecting dust. :(

Added depth would of been nice. With my V1000B and an EVGA Classified motherboard and an optical drive in the top bay spot, Plugging SATA cables into the motherboard is tough and scary as the back of the optical drive is right there and there is no straight shot to the SATA plugs.

If the mesh he's talking about for my blowhole. I bought a Lian Li 3 bay fan insert and cut the face up for the mesh....wasn't trying to be a smart ass. :)

Just finished building the Thermalright Archon into the Lian Li PC-V1020A - with the Asus Crosshair MB it actually fits - although it was down to 3mm in the end...
