the test setup will use same hardware from PC-Q02 and PC-Q16 thread.

- Intel Core i5-2500K @ 2.6GHz (CPU multiplier x26, offset voltage -0.150V)

regarding AC power reading, this is just same with what i posted in PC-Q16 thread:

using a Power meter connected between PSU and AC outlet to measure total power draw..

FSP 300W 80PLUS PSU

AC Idle Power = 30 W
AC Max Power = 70 W (running Prime95 on 4 cores)

160W pico PSU

AC Idle Power = 25 W
AC Max Power = 55 W (running Prime95 on 4 cores)

this shows that pico PSU is more energy efficient.

aside from energy savings you get, using this cute PSU free up more space in you casing. when using mini ITX case specially, this could give you an opportunity to improve case air flow, use a higher/bigger CPU cooler, or add more hardware inside.
 
Is not possible to mod a pico PSU to power a mid-end VGA? You can perfectly fit 2 of them there.

Or maybe add 2 more pico PSU, one for each 6pin pci-e power of a 670 :)

Probably, but then you would have 3 external AC power bricks.
 
i wonder could i put a Sesonic 400W together with a HIS iCooler H775F1GD Radeon HD 7750 1GB 128-bit GDDR5 card to this case ? The card will be 18.1cm, longer than requirement of LianLi 1mm .

appears to have room above the optical drive , thats where i had mine in my pcq07 along with two other laptop drives in same area

Above the ODD? In the PC-Q03 is a Slim ODD tray, so quite small and above it is just the top cover. If you leave out the ODD then you can place one 2.5" HDD/SSD there but I need an ODD. I thought about pasting the SSD under the ODD tray but that's not the way I like to build a solid PC.^^

I've had my eye on this case for some time... the idea of building a "pocket-rocket" PC has always appealed to me, and I'm quite sick of lugging this Antec P182 around. As much as I love this case, it weighs approximately 7000 pounds, and is as large as Spain.

The one factor that kept me from ordering one of these was the 180mm graphics card length restriction. Well, my local stockist is now stocking Powercolour 7770 Ghz Edition cards, which are 170mm in length. BOO-YAH.

Obviously temperatures and noise won't be the greatest in such a case... but I can live with that. And even though the card is only one slot, the cooler takes up additional room, so I'll have to get creative with mounting a couple SSDs in the case, but that's no biggie.

1. Can you provide the dimension of the tool-less insert (see img below) ? Particularly how deep that piece go into the case.
2. How tall is the lip on the frame?

You might want to check PC-Q07 thread. This case is basicaly Q07 with slim slot optical drive. As seen in the pictures of Q03 build if you use SFX PSU there is probably going to be room for 2,5 inch mass storage device.
I had 5750 in Q07 and the temps during gaming were 75 - 80.
 
Could someone measure the internal dimensions of this case, from the front to back, please? I'm wondering if I could fit two HDD's side-by-side down the bottom, like the PC-Q11. I know it would be a tight fit, just wondering if it's doable.
 
Quick question for those that have the Q03....

What is the actual height of the case from the top of the desk to the top of the case. I have a space on my desk that is 11" from top of desk to the first shelf and would love to find a Lian Li mITX case to fit in there.

I can see the measurements stated on line but the last Lian Li case I had, PC-Q08, was actually taller than spec'd due to the feet. Stated as 10.71" but was actually slightly over 11" (if I remember correctly) as the measurement was the case itself and did not take into account the feet on the bottom.

My criteria:

1. mITX
2. Less than 11" height
2. Takes ATX PSU (Seasonic X-560 from a previous build will go in it)
3. Slot for DVD (slim or 5.25) - family still uses CD/DVD

Looks like I may have to rethink my PSU as the X560 is 160mm and modular which is not ideal for the Q03. Either 140mm and modular or 140mm period or SFX. Silverstone just released a 300w non-modular version with a hybrid fan that looks like it might be ideal for an ITX build with no GPU.

Still curious about the actual height, including case feet.
