Lian LI PC-60 Replacement

Alright, I bought a Lian Li PC-60 Aluminum chassis from Monarch Computer 6 years ago and have rocked it on every single upgrade since.

From my AMD Athlon all the way up to my current Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550S, it's all been built inside this case.

I've decided to retire the chassis away from my newest build and don't know which direction to turn. Lian Li chassis are so expensive in comparison to Antec, Thermaltake etc. but I don't want a subpar case replacement to save a few bucks.
Does anyone have some serious suggestion on a Chassis replacement for the $120-$130 price point that compare to the one I have currently? I do love the all-Aluminum design as it looks sleek and feels like a high quality case.

What do ya got?

I like my Lian Li 9F that I use as an HTPC. But I do think the PC-P50 is something to consider for only 30 bucks more. I like the dual fan top of that case a bit better..especially for a desktop. I'd like to see Lian Li add that kind of top to the more modern interior of the PC-9F - and make the HD cage even more modular. That would be the killer case I think.
 
i've still got my 2 Lian Li cases. a PC60 & a PC70. they are still in great nick (no scratches on the black anodised surface).

one thing that has hurt their longevity tho are the 80mm fan mounts, mediocre cable management features and their width which can affect the installation of large heatsinks.

thought about selling mine b/c of this tho was able to extend their life a bit by modding the 80mm fan mounts to accept 92mm fans instead. this was actually not as straight forward as it sounds.

on the PC60 i've changed all the 80mm (except the top fan mount, tho actually fairly easy, just lazy) to accept 92's. the dual front was a bit difficult if you wanted to keep the removable dust cover.

on mine i drilled the 92mm mount holes but they interfered with the dust filter tabs so i install 3mm or 4mm spacers (cut up a pen tube with a swiss army knife, almost ghetto worthy) to resolve.

the rear mount on the removable MB tray was a bit easier tho it was a squeeze and you can still slide out the tray.

what i'm getting at is you can mod your existing PC60 like i did mine to modernise it a bit. can also do a bit of selective dremeling to improve the cable situation. probably have a go at it myself after i finish modding my TT mozart case.

anyway just a thought.
 
Sweet guys, thanks for the feed back. I really dig the PC-9F that mannyman and GuyClinch both mention. It's got the classis Lian Li feel but a lot more room for growth and I love how they put the PSU on the bottom, could make for a cleaner build.

I do however like your suggestion Aphasia of modding my current chassis to support larger fans. The biggest, if not only, complaint I have about the PC-60 is the noise. Those 4 x 80mm fans can pretty loud.

After looking at these options I think the PC-9F is what I’ll go with, and keep the PC-60 as a modding project for down the road.

That's good, I love seeing older case's modernized a little.

I plan on modding my CM ATCS 100 SX.
