Just setting my pc-v1100b... I noticed the, "CD / DVD trap door," looks great but restricts the tray from closing smoothly. The tray catches a bit on the trap door.

Anyone else have this problem? If so, any corrective measures?
 
Several people have noticed the same thing, it's even been mentioned in a few reviews of those bezels. A lot of it has to do with the CD drive you're using... the best solution though is usually to pull the factory bezel off the front of the drive's tray. Most people have managed to fix the problem doing that.

Yes, that potentially exposes the inside of the drive to more dust being sucked in but unless you're going to buy a half dozen drives trying to find one that doesn't hang, that's about the only option if you decide to use those bezels.

I have a V1000 so I'm assuming it has the same drive door as well. Im using a fairly new samsung dvd/cdrw drive and have no problems at all. Works great!
 
in addition to bella, yes you will let more dust and stuff in but not much as your using the trapdoor anyway ;)
 
Herd alot of good things about these cases..guess this is a slip on the factory.. Still nice though.. But not for 300+ dollers
 
Bella, I tried to do that but the plastic on the front of the Plextor is pretty stubborn.

Dang, yesterday the trap door / bezel prevented my drive from closing altogether. I had to reach down and manually tilt the bezel to allow the tray to close. Bummer.
 
I always thought you were required to remove the tray cover before installing the drive. I don't know of a tray cover that wouldn't hang up on the flip down bezels.
