I noticed that Lian-Li just released the A70F (which is now available on Newegg, and it's a full tower even though it says mid tower). It's 80 dollars cheaper than the B70. I'm trying to understand why. The only things I can tell is that the A70F uses a different 3.5" drive mounting mechanism, which I am not sure is better or worse than the B70. It looks like the B70 also has soundproofing foam on the sides and an eject button on one of the 5.25" bay covers. But other than those things, I can't see a difference. Any other reason the B70 would cost 80 dollars more?

Hot/quick swap HDD mounting costs...
(and HDD also keeps more noise in it)

That Akasa/Spire etc crapmat is in practise acoustically impotent.

The B70's mobo tray has 2 cabling cut outs and goes all the way down the bottom of the case and there is a psu mesh guard on the bottom. Other than the already mentioned sound mats, there doesn't seem to be anything else I can find on Lian Li's website.

I think the A70F is a better case the B70:

  • Nicer looking front bezel
  • Simpler hard drive bays allow 20mm more space for graphics cards, water cooling equiment, etc.
  • Truncated motherboard tray facilitates routing cables behind tray
