LGA 2011v3 (Haswell-E) Heatsinks

Would one be safe in assuming that a Ivy Bridge -E LGA2011 based heatsink would be compatible with LGA2011-v3 sockets? (same bolt pattern, etc. ?)

I can't find credible evidence on sites that sell heatsinks that this is guaranteed to work.

There is a slight difference in the height .. 2011 v.3 is ever so slightly taller. But not enough that new mounting studs are needed. Cryorig is the only one I know of who is supplying different studs .. mainly because the threaded end on the ones in cooling kits is a little to long for 2011 v.3 holes.

Existing LGA2011 heatsinks will be able to handle its thermal loads, provided the older LGA2011-0 mounting brackets can accommodate the increased Z-height of the new LGA2011-3 CPU package.

The older LGA2011-0 CPU package + ILM has a Z-height of ~8.014mm (plus/minus 0.34mm).
The new LGA2011-3 CPU package + ILM has a Z-height of 8.481mm (plus/minus 0.279mm).
If we compare the maximum Z-heights of both platforms that's potential difference of ~0.4mm. Comparing the average Z-height, the difference is 0.467mm, or ~0.5mm.

Z-height:
LGA2011-0 8.014mm +/-0.34mm
LGA2011-3 8.481mm +/-0.270mm
difference = 0.467mm
