LGA 2011-v3

X299 is rumored to use the new LGA 2066 socket...so 2011-3 is done. I've heard the cooler mounting / footprint is unchanged though, but nothing really solid on that one.

With threadripper I hope we finally get some competition in the HEDT market. If Intel refuses to drastically lower prices it will be harder and harder to fight the urge to do an AMD build after many years away from them.

I expect the 10C / 20T to be priced around what the current 8C / 16T is. I also expect the 16C threadripper to be priced at least what the 10C / 20T Intel lga2066 is.

That's not even a rumour, just plain fact for ages :p

The only thing I saw that I'd call "confirmation" was the info that Noctua put out on the topic. I'll consider it "strong rumor" until I see it confirmed by Intel or a few more manufacturers.

LGA2066 for Bassin Falls have been known for a long time from official Intel roadmaps when Purley was introduced.

I may have been unclear there. The LGA2066 is confirmed. The compatibility of mounting for coolers between LGA2066 and 2011-3 is still a "strong rumor" as far as I know.

Sorry, my mistake then :)
