LG OLED C7 pixel refresher change

There seems to have been a significant pixel refresher change in the LG C7 OLED monitor FW recently.

Today when turning off the monitor I got this big warning that it is about to run the pixel refresher (it has never done that before). Then about an hour later it showed some other message (I did not see contents as I was trying to sleep) then it slowly ran a single horizontal white line from top to bottom. Then it finally turned off. None of this has ever happened before. I had the auto pixel refresher turned on before and I assume it ran (the TV makes a very distinct sound when the power cuts out and sometimes that was delayed by 30-60 minutes).

I have been using the TV pretty hard as computer monitor since I bought it a year ago and it has developed a few "shadows" on the RED one one "shadow" on the GREEN which I assumed was burn-in. It is something you only saw on pure color full screens like these:

I just tried the above again and all the "shadows" are gone from both the RED and GREEN channel. So it looks like there might have been a pixel refresher bug in C7 that LG ninja fixed recently. My firmware version (US) is:

04.70.36

My TV FW updated recently (week or two ago) I remember as it made me review the "new" end user agreement with an annoying popup that would not go away.
 
My LG B7 has the same feature. It runs automatically for an hour every time the set is turned off. It's been active since the first day I used the TV, back in September.
 
I've got a B6; haven't noticed it myself, but I've been firmware ninja'd before and not noticed. I'll keep an eye out.
