This is pretty much my best bet if I wanna keep my Unlimited Data Plan on AT&T. Specs look pretty good.It comes out today. discuss!

specs:
-4.5 inch 1280×720 AH-IPS display
-1GB RAM
- Scorpion Dual Core(1.5Ghz)
-4GB storage( it comes with a 16GB microSD though)

I just hope it gets ICS update

There have been reports of big time throttling once u get past a certain amount of data...

Other then that, i'm dying to get my hands on one, expecially since ATL has LTE

It should eventually get ICS.. if the bootloader is unlocked, I suspect you'll see a stable CM9 release on it before LG releases their ICS update, though.

I don't think I've seen LG make a decent (high end) smart phone yet. The Revolution was basically the same as the Thunderbolt minus some RAM and was pretty generic overall. The G2X was a nicely spec'd phone when it launched and is mod-friendly, but it was plagued with lots of hardware and stability issues from what I read. A lot of it due to the Nvidia SoC on it though.

This phone may be different since it has a different SoC now (is that Scorpion the same as the Rezound SoC?). But given LG's past, I would wait a week or two and watch how the phone is doing in the forums to see if there's any major issues people are having with it.

Apparently the battery life sucks on it... worse than vivid and even more so compared to skyrocket

unless u buy an international version that comes factory unlocked, you're gonna ge CIQ

The Nitro's specs look great, but so did the Thrill and that was the biggest hunk of shit phone I've ever had. I actually went through 2 replacements and a complete return within the span of a very painful week. Until LG proves otherwise, they're on my do not buy list.

The latest generation LG cell phones are quite good but then we need to remember that after all these are just pieces of electronics and some plastic. Some or the other day we all come across with similar experience and one odd product can give you hard time but generalizing may not be the good idea and who knows you cherish the next product from the same company for some good time.

picked mine up today.. 1st LTE phone i've used, and boy is the data speed fast. I could never imagine how mobile internet can be faster than what i have at home, that's just insane.

The screen is as good as advertise, the main gripe about the phone was battery life, but i haven't had a chance to test it yet, but if it lasts me a full day it'll be ok in my book.

Ive been reading reviews of this phone and most reviews mention lag and the battery. what gives? 1830mAh is more than what the other 4g phones offer.A 1.5ghz scopion Dual core isnt entirely outdated. Enadget video review also says there isnt much bloatware and they can be deleted

I have read about this too as I am very interested in this phone being on ATNT. Could it possibly be the optimus skin that is on top of the android OS? I want to know before I get this phone. I really want the 1280 by 720 screen and im not sure if the nexus is going to make it to atnt anytime soon.

The LG UI makes the phone laggy. Changing it to GoLauncher made it a lot smoother. It's also wise to freeze some of the useless apps (using Titanium Backup), and it'll free up more ram and make things run cripser.

The battery drains a lot faster apparently because the phone stays in LTE mode the entire time, another possiblity is the IPS screen. Samsung's AMOLED are very good on battery, but nothing's known about the LG's screen yet.

there is something about the lag in cpu performance and also that 5-7 hours battery and that plastic cheap feeling of the back of the phone that bothers me

It is a kind of pay for what you need situation here. If you are looking for high cpu performance, it is going to consume battery fast and if the plastic body doesn't make you happy then be prepared to carry some heavy metallic weight. But if you still want both ends of the world, look for a high end phone.
