Yeah there are more threads like this but this has a focus!

OK at the moment I have an LG Flatron 915FT Plus CRT and I love it. The only problems are
a) It's footprint on the desk is too big
b) It gives off far to much heat, i practically have to use a fan to cool it.

It has to go, at the moment I am looking at LG LCD panels since they seem to be highly rated over here. I do a lot of gaming but also watch films and chat on IRC a lot so I guess this monitor is going to have to be good all round.

But the problem hit me when I went on the LG site, they have so many panels. Currently i'm looking at a 19", but a 20" would be nice if it isn't too expensive.

L1930B - 25ms - 400:1
L1930BQ - 12ms - 400:1
L1930P - 25ms - 700:1
L1930S - 25ms - 400:1
L1930SQ - 12ms - 400:1
L193ST - 16ms - 500:1
L1910B - 25ms - 400:1
L1910P - 25ms - 400:1
L1910S - 25ms - 400:1

OK I just can't tell the difference between most of these, L1930P has the best contrast but the Q have the best response times. I am guessing S = Style and B = Business and P = Professional.

But which one is the best all round? Any personal favourites or does anyone know of any other panel I should consider?

I'm also being heavily swung towards a Samsung SyncMaster 193P which I can get for £510 which is about £200 cheaper than the other monitors I have considered. This panel has had some great reviews.

I have the L1920P and I love it .. all these people knock LG lcd but do this take your " big name LCD apart and look on the back and see who makes the screen that is right LG does just like on just about all laptops .. so cut out the big name over priced and goto the source :)
