The screen is shifted off to the right or left, and I can only see the sides, how do I fix this

I think I have the exact same problem, which I've detailed in the big 246 thread. It's got to be some driver/scaling issue. Mine outputs what looks like 1680x1050 on my 1920x1200 screen, except it's only the right side of the source desktop. When I set it to lower resolutions, the problem is only exacerbated. It works perfectly fine when I uninstall all drivers though. I'll keep you updated now that I have some time to fiddle around some more.

You could try the NVIDIA OverrideEDIDflags tweak to ignore the CEA extension block which is likely the source of your troubles. this is assuming you're using an NVIDIA GPU of course.

Blahman, after many wasted hours, you've finally solved the problem! Thanks! I stupidly ignored that post when I read the big 246 thread.

Yes! I had the same problem. Not any more! Modded the INF and reinstalled the drivers and all is good with this monitor and a Gateway P-6860-FX via HDMI.

I recently jumped on the $299 refurb deal for the L246WP and had this problem also out of the box. I ended up having to put the override in each nv_software section for it to work. I must say the picture is leagues better than the VGA connection. I thought I may have to settle and fool myself into believing it wouldn't matter if I couldn't fix it, but much thanks to this forum and bryanb (for the original solution) for propogating the fix.
