heat sensor buttons are kinda crappy. one of my monitors has them, i broke them in less than a day. fortunately NEC was kind enough to replace the monitor, but i'm still a little frightened of those buttons.
 
I've seen that monitor in person. The design is one of the best I've ever seen :eek:
 
This looks like a killer LCD. I might have to drop by Best Buy sometime and look at it.

While it's true that a "dot pitch" of .294 could be considered mediocre, I don't know why are they compaining about it so much. Every single 19" will have the same pixel pitch. It just doesn't work the same way as with CRTs.

Also, as much as adore it's design, this monitor has a TN panel so all those fliping possibilities are pretty much worthless due to a very narrow viewing angle. I would love to see a monitor with the same design that uses an IPS panel instead of TN.
 
the 160/160 is an exaggerated piece of crap on the part of LG, just like the monitor mentioned in this thread. It is a 12ms TN panel, and because of that, the viewing angles don't compare to the other 2 types of monitor (nor do the colours). However, the response time is better. The monitor in this thread probably uses the same panel as the L90D+

We do need to see someone make a 19" IPS panel....

There already are 19" IPS panels but their response time is 25ms. I've played around with the L1930B (IPS) and it was surprisingly responsive. Compared to my 20ms PVA, it seems almost twice as fast. Of course, it's not as good as <12ms TN panels but it's response time is much more consistent across the whole color spectrum so it's not that bad either.

And I agree about the 160/160 spec. It seems all manufacturers now have TN panels with 160 degrees viewing angles in both directions. They just forget to tell us that it's measured differently so in reality it's no better than 140 degrees :rolleyes:
 
/start rant. 160 degrees how? If I stand on my head upside down and tilt my dick towards the screen at a 160 degree angle? LCD manufacturers, especially those with TN panels, should stop shooting crap out of their mouths. 8ms my ass... 160 my ass... /end rant.
