I don't know much about monitors but here it goes. I just saw the lg IPS236V-PN and I'm thinking of getting it. First off its IPS, I know that's a good thing. I need to replace my old Gateway 19" 16:10 monitor that's not 1080p. I will be gaming and browsing the web. I need something at least 23" and I would like it to be under $200 USD. I don't really want another glossy display but I could live with it if its a good deal. The 5ms response time shouldn't be too bad either. The one I have now is 8ms and it dosent bother me at all.

The monitors $230 at my local micro center. This is great because If somethings wrong, I can just go right back and exchange it. It's also wall mountable. THIS IS A NECESSITY. Thanks for the help.

All the specs are good for a standard E-IPS type panel. Myself I don't mind glossy IPS. This one's a little new for reviews; nothing solid yet.

The LG IPS panels are really slow compared to other IPS panels. Dell U2311H is fast and wall mountable, the Asus ML239H is fast, not sure about wall mounting, but it doesn' use aggressive AG coating which makes whites/light colors look dirty/grainy and dull

Review IPS231P (same panel and response time)

Wait for the U2311H to go on sale if you must have a wall moutable display. If your Gateway is glossy I can promise that you will absolutely hate the AG coating.

TOO SLOW and very low contrast for PRAD.DE review
and excessive ag coating, cause difficoult to text reading, grainy effect in pictures and cause eyestrain.
