LG E91, D237IPS 23" 120hz

"Like its close-to-home rival Samsung, LG Electronics didn't wait for IFA to announce some of its newest creations. This being said we give you LG's E91 and D237IPS, two 23-inch Flatron series monitors which will be seen at IFA in Berlin later this week (and next week).

For starters let's talk about the E91 as this one is the immediate head-turning model due to its acryl finish, 7.2mm depth and super-thin bezel of just 4.35mm. This one also features a hanger-type hinge, a native resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, a 2ms GTG (5ms typical) response time, a dynamic contrast ratio of 10,000,000:1, a brightness of 250 cd/m2, and 170/160 viewing angles.

The D237IPS aims to impress through the use of the Film Pattern Retarder (FPR) 3D technology and of an IPS panel. This combo ensures a smooth 3D experience and higher-grade image quality. The D237IPS comes with a 2D to 3D conversion function, a native resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, a dynamic contrast ratio of 5,000,000:1, D-Sub and DVI inputs, a maximum brightness of 250 cd/m2 in 2D mode and 100 cd/m2 in 3D mode, and a stand allowing for panel rotation. Both of LG's displays have LED backlights and lack an official price tag."

did you notice that it doesn't state 120hz ANYWHERE? just 3D.

Everything LG put out on IFA last year is still MIA, at least in North America. I expect no different. Like that 30" OLED which "absolutely will be available in 2011" .... and the higher end NANO TVs which are finally just creeping on the market now, in rather different form.

Specs are here on their PR list, including IFA:

Do not quite understand the 2D viewing angle of 170/160 for an IPS?
