I have been looking around everywhere for an LED 24"-27" PVA/IPS monitor with decent response time and I think many others have too. Needless to say there are almost zero of them that don't cost $1500+. After shopping around for some time I found this, the LG 26LE5500:

http://www.lg.com/uk/tv-audio-video/televisions/LG-led-tv-26LE5500.jsp

It is a 26" LED TV with 3 ms response time, 1920x1080 res, LED and 26" It has viewing angles listed at 178/178 so I assume it is not a TN panel. I have seen the price listed at around $700 (equivalent), but I have not seen it listed in U.S. One website did say it was available here though, I am curious has anyone else looked at this? What do you think for a decent computer monitor? Application would be everything (gaming, movie watching, and also school work).

I've emailed and phoned LG in the UK about this (last week) they can't answer the question and just said it's an LED panel  I pushed the issue and a customer service rep promised to get back to me with a proper answer, but they haven't done so and at this point I'm not expecting them to, especially in light of the fact that LG now have a panel lottery on their lower end TVs (between LGD IPS & AUO MVA)

For what little it's worth one retailer I asked thinks the view angle may just be a cut & paste job from the spec of a 32" model, and reckons 26" LG are TN panels. This is more what I expected and LG are going out of their way to hide the spec, so I think it looks like a very overpriced gimmick TV.

If LG do let me know I'll post an update, if it is confirmed as 100% IPS it's still a bit expensive for a 26" TV but at least the LED would save a few pennies on the electric bill.
