Sending back a Motorola SBG6850. Worked great for 6-months, then nothing but constant issues since then. Motorola is taking it back citing a conflict with the modem and my ISP. ironically my ISP is Comcast, which these modems are ideally designed for according to the packaging from Motorola.
LF your expertise on a cable modem and a router to replace this combo unit. I am done with the combo unit nonsense as well. I should have known better, since I wouldn't buy a combo TV-DVD or anything else for that matter.
Intended use is just simple online browsing and DirecTV at this point. I no longer game online anymore the way I used to so I don't require that type of setup.
I am currently looking at the netgear CMD31T as a modem choice, but haven't seen a router that stands hands above the rest in this category.
Didn't find anything using search for modems and the recommend thread is over a year old.
