Blatant hijack: what are the specifications of that external PSU and adapter (it looks like 130W - can you get more powerful versions?) and where can I get it?

I do not know that is a separate add on. When you buy the case you get a lot of extras including an extended PSU plate to put on the back of the case but not the external PSU and adapter.

even weirder, my cpu voltage is being reported in CPU-Z and HWMonitor at 2.23v :eek:

I believe it's just a case of CPU-Z grabbing data from the wrong sensor, or at least interpreting the values incorrectly. This was a common problem when SB was first released.

Looking forward to hearing some OC results!
 
I am new here, so hi to all! :)

I am interested to get this board since my current board (ASRock H67M-ITX/HT) is second time on RMA with same bug, total dead, and I had bad experience with Zotac in the past.

@ Machupo thanks for sharing information with us, if you don't mind I have a few questions:

From pics i can't figure the Super IO chip(vital for fan control support), do you have AIDA64 installed or other application that can give us more info, or can you make some pics focused on chips?

From pics you uploaded seems BIOS is soldered :mad: , and looking on Giada site seems they don't have any update for this board or other recent boards they released, wonder if BIOS is so perfect or we will get same treatment as on Zotac...
Can you make a backup from current BIOS using http://forums.mydigitallife.info/threads/9856-Universal-BIOS-Backup-Toolkit so I can take a look ?

Any free diagnostic software out there that provides the info you're looking for? I'm still trying to figure out what all of these BIOS options are for before I start twisting the knobs :p

The Super I/O chip on the motherboard (was located under the SSD slot) looks to be an ITE IT8758E chip. Does that help at all?

Might explain the wrong voltage reading you had, as far I see on quick search the datasheet is not avail for "free", was hopping the board is based on NCT(former Winbond) Super I/O that I'm used with on sandy bridge platform, lets see if I can find it...

CPU socket placement with this board is perfect for the AXP140 -- heatsink does not overhang the board edges, nor does it impact the PCIe slot.

Was about to say that! Looks like AXP-140 was made for it (or, technically, the other way around, as AXP-140 came first)
 
Ok, so anyone who knows anything about BIOS modding -- this option is not present in the stock BIOS menus... any way to get it to show up / figure out if it is live? I would really like the ability to arbitrarily set a CPU voltage level :)

ok, no ideas here -- got it to 4.5Ghz with p95 blend for a couple hours, was enjoying life at 1.346v (according to aida64 extreme).

Then last night my profile fragged :( -- so, back to 4.2Ghz now that she's rebuilt.

I'll end this saga now and wait to see what z77 brings to the table. All in all, very impressed with this board (on par or even ahead of the zotac/asrock board for this generation), and very happy that it had a half height mPCIe for my wireless card and a full height mSATA for my Runcore T50 :)

Also, just put a Xigmatek XAF-F1451 on the AXP-140 and it is 100% completely silent, even on an open test bench. My external 3TB is the loudest thing in my office (well, other than the Cherry MX Blue switches in my KBC Poker :p), and when that turns off, it's my monitor... I never even realized that thing made noise!
