What are the diffrences? Is there any actual noticeable difrence in how theese chips are OCing?

My friend has a B3 and is thinking of sending it back for a G0 and we're wondering if there is even a noticeable diffrence.

Whats the word on the [H] guys?:confused:

Post any OC results you may have so we can compare.
 
yeah i think this is a valid point i myself has the old SL9UM and thinking of buying the G0
 
I am getting 3.7Ghz @ 1.475V right now as my highest. I can probably get to 3900 @ 1.55 or so volts, but I don't think I am going to try just yet.
 
So far, from my observation, I believe G0 can reach the same point as B3 with less voltage and with the same voltage, will go 100-300 MHz higher. It seems to be cooler too.

However, this is limited to a single batch all from NCIX. I would like to see results from other batches before assuming this since it may not be due to G0 but due to a better batch.

Anyone else have any G0's or B3's OC'd that are NOT from NCIX?

This is my B3. I just started prime95 when I took this screenshot. I'm going to let it run tonight.
 
you need to update your version of Prime95 as the one that you are running will only work on 1 core cpu's (unless you know how to run multiple instances, one for each core).

I grabbed the latest one off their website. This shows multiple core options... what am I missing?
 
I had my B3 at 3200 for a few hours and it was stable but the temps were disturbingly high under load (readings in TAT approaching 80c). Backed it down to 3.0 and temps are more reasonable now, but still quite warm. This is with the stock heatsink, so yeah...

Run "Prime95.exe", "Prime96.exe -a1", "Prime96.exe -a2", and "Prime96.exe -a3"

Set all the affinities accordingly.

It's a lot of work, but can certainly be done.
 
I don't have mine overclocked yet, but it seems to be running very cool at stock settings. I have a G0 and it runs idle at 35 degrees C. The Ninja rev B cooler I'm using with a PWM fan doesn't even spin when at idle and the cpu stays at 35 C. It seems so strange to not see the cpu fan turning except when loading the cpu. And even then the rpm on the fan is only about 250 to 300.

The latest version on Mersenne is still v24 which is before the multithreaded improvement in v25. v25 is still in "testing" status however, so it may turn up false positives. I would not worry about that though.

If you don't want to use a "test version" then stick with v24 and use a batch file of the command line switch that Betrayer00GT posted to launch, and manually start all of the instances.
