Legacy HDD and Partition Alignment Question

Hi guys,

I've recently been reading up on partition alignment as I'm getting ready to deploy my first SSD. Now I must say I've been out of the loop for a while but partition alignment is something new to me as I was under the impression that partitons were auto aligned when created.

I have legacy 512 byte disks and NO Advanced format 4096 disks. Do these need to be aligned?

I am aware that my SSD will need to be aligned. What is the best and easiest way to do this?

Thanks all

If you use Vista or newer windows OS, just install, it will be aligned.
