Left4Dead Map packs and user maps?

Does anyone know whether Valve will be releasing a map pack anytime soon for L4D? Or whether there are good user maps located somewhere? I've looked around online a bit and found a few user-created campaigns and maps, but there seem to be very few. I've played a couple, and they were sort of dull. Not that I don't appreciate the effort, but they just weren't that great.

Is the SDK not out yet? Is that why there isn't much user content out there?

Man I don't know whats taking so long. I really want to play the "Crossroads Mall" and "Racoon City" maps. They need to hurry . L4D is one of those type of games where things get stagnant pretty quick without more content.
