Really just getting into gaming is this a good game? can you play multiplayer?
 
It's good for multiplayer. Good action and control. Worthless for single player.

haha any other reccomendations? i am open! i like army tpe games i.e. COD, Combat Arms
 
I don't recommend L4D2 for the vs. multiplayer, you end up getting kicked just because you haven't been playing it for over a year.
 
I play in-house versus with a bunch of friends and it's a blast. Playing in a pub is usually very one sided and most of the time someone just bitches.
 
In my opinion if your playing with Friends it a GREAT game but if your playing alone it sucks. Also be aware that the Online Community is Harsh/ They tend to not be a nice set of people

I've never really had any problems with players in L4D. You might occasionally come across a player that decides to shoot up the entire team in frustration, but thats only happened once or twice on months of playing.

But don't expect to be able to jump into an advanced realism match and not get kicked if you've never played before. Start on easy and work your way up!

Having played both L4D and L4D2 for combined 650+ hours, they are worth the money. I've played these two games more than anything I own (other than WoW)......

I play this game for hilarity factor, if you have friends.. hell I just meet some cool people online and play with them, the game is so much fun. We're all frantically screaming and laughing when a tank is chasing us around. I have about 300 hours in l4d2, ~ for l4d. Playing versus can make for some very completive games.Many many different modes, and valve usually puts out a new "mutation" mode every week.

Oh and please for the love of god get a microphone. I have no idea how people spend all this money to build your pc and buy the game and internet connection but you cannot buy a basic mic for a few bucks. If any game needs a mic, it's this.
 
You can never go wrong with any of Valve's games, L4D or L4D2, Counter Strike 1.6, Counter Strike Source, Half Life 2, Half Life Deathmatch, i especially recommend Team Fortress 2, great action and the game itself makes me giggle.

Also battlefield bad company 2 (and Vietnam), most of the COD games are good, it just depends on what you type of playing style your into.
