As part of fooling around with my DVd drive, I decided to put a couple of led's inside. Thing is though, I don't know exactly where to power the led's from. Is there a contact point on the circut board? I don't see where I get my power from.

You could run a wire straight from the DC in socket (molex plug).. you need to make sure they will run on that voltage though.

tommo's suggestion is the best idea... but, as he said, be certain your voltages are correct, use resistors if necessary.

There are no contacts on the board other than to power the front LED/LEDs.

Otherwise, buy one of those 3-LED assemblies, install it inside (be cetrain the tray will still close), drill a hole out the backside for the wire and connect it to a seperate molex.

Very cool, I have a 106s but it has been acting a little flaky so I am going to replace it, Also I am getting a X-Qpack case so I will need the smaller drive, the 106s is pretty big and will cause problems if I ever have to replace the stock PSU.
But that really looks cool, to bad I never seen it earlier, I would have done that mod long ago.

If you are able to do it then be sure to post some pics. :)
