Hey, i stumbled across www.v3leds.com when i was searching for LEDs to mod my case and the prices seemed extremely good.

$15 for 100 3mm or 5mm LEDs of various colors. Its hard to believe that the site is actually making money from it. I went to another modding site and they said they used v3 as well.

I didnt need them at the time but the resistors were only 2 cents each.

I ended up getting 100 of the blue 5mm LEDs and these things are absolutley great. Maybe it was a mistake on the price on their website, but man, I did end up getting them that cheap.

I say take them while you can get them guys. If you need some, now is probably the time to get them.

Yeah, they have some good leds, not many to choose from thought. I bought some for a Molex Connector Mod. Its nice that they have a flat shipping rate too.

Keep us informed on how they look. I have purchased some in bulk before that came from a China distributor and the blues looked like crap.

they look really good. They arent those colored plastic ones. They are the ones that are clear until you power them up.

The cheap ones are always blue.
These are always clear until lit.

They are absolutley awesome. For the money i cant believe the quality i got out of them.

The ones I was referring to used waterclear lenses also but the blue light was just a little off, almost a dark blue.

Not true.
Often the higher quality LEDs have a blue-tinted epoxy lens. The cheapest (and lowest quality) LEDs I have bought have been water-clear LEDs (of any color). The blue-tinted are colored for identification, not to enhance the color of the die. I would go for tinted LEDs over water-clear any day for my day-to-day tinkering. The only time I would use water-clear would be for a production LED flashlight, where the average joe thinks that the color of the epoxy is used to enhance/determine the color of the LED.

On topic (kinda), but still wondering none-the-less: Does anyone know where I can get RGB LEDs with a diffused epoxy lens? I have been looking for a long time for a good supplier and have only found ones that where $3.50+ I have a boat-load of RGB Water-Clears, but I need diffused for a project I am working on. Any help would be appreciated!

i'm only seeing bulk lots.... if you don't need more than one or two LEDs, go to www.lsdiodes.com A lot of their LEDs start at 45 cents and shipping is $2 to anywhere. I realize per LED it's more expensive, but I'd never go through 100 LEDs of one color... I like a variety.

wow first time i've seen an [H] members site hit the hot deals, and it came from a brand new name. Wonder what the IP address shows as.

LOL he even removed the copyright from his OSCommerce shopping cart.

He's probably because the site owner refers to someone at Hard Forum, meaning he himself is a hard forum member. :p

i think i m gonna order a hundred, thanks

YEah, it's for sale, but unfortunately UFO doesn't like me for some random reason (Seems every thread I open on his forums he locks or otherwise deters me) and locked that thread.

LED's will continue to sell until it's sold though

Deffinate bump for a great guy! Dealt with him before, would deal with him again. Hope someone buys!

Yeah it'd be cool. But UFO doesn't like me much so he locked my thread. Oh well. I'ma see if anyone wants to trade me some [h]ardcore comp stuff for it. Namely a flatpanel LCD and some comp stuff that I've got a WTB thread on the FS/T forums.

So do these take 3 weeks+ to arrive? or is what you had on the site stuff that was in stock?

Got my LEDs today! Worked great! Really Bright. It only took about a week so I'm happy. Great Deals on em.

That is all

Sold the company, It'll be coming under new managment, so no more LED"s from me, though v3leds will remain a great LED sales site! :p
