Anyone ever tried to replace the led in the zalman cnps9500? Pics?
 
should be a simple fan dis-assembly, then a surface mount LED swap.

Have not looked at the fan though, so I cannot tell you what size SM LED to buy.

replacing would not be that difficult.
 
I believe its a 3mm led. I was thinking an amber/orange led. I just might hotglue the led in place and just run independent wires for it, so it can be constantly 100%. Maybe ill put a 5mm one in there. You'd have to remove the ring to release the blades though like a normal fan.

i could barely get in there to even remove the LEDs. i cant imagine trying to swap them out.
 
i havent chainged any led's but i have replased that loud stock led fan with more silent one, and i guess that swapping into another led fan whould do the trick nicelly and whould not require any led swiching.
