LED Light Base>>>USB Powered?

that wouldnt be a big deal to power with USB. It is most likely 9v out of the wall wart, if its 5v you are lucky. anyway its basic electronics bro, if you want to do this seriously, consider posting this in the electronics sub forum

Email them and ask how many volts the AC to DC Trasformer puts out. It probably puts out 12Volts which will not work with USB as USB can only supply 5V 500MA Max if it put out 5 Volts under 500MA you can power it via the USB port. If it does in fact put out 12 Volts you will have to mod the LED Light base and change the resister to a propper value that is suited for 5 Volt operation.

I'll post it in the electronics sub, I was just wondering. I had once found a USB hub with a LED at the top that would have been perfect, but it was discontinued and now I can't find it anywhere (plus I think it was USB 1.1).

you do realize you can wire up a usb port just for the purpose of running this thing...with any voltage you want right?
