im abotu to do my LEDs and i was curious. im working in a tight space. can i trim the wires on the leds and resistors as needed as long as they are still connected so i can keep them in the incredibally small area i need?

like say

O-----------------

the dashed is negative. and solid is positive.

could i cut the wires say midway then cut the wires coming frmo the resistors so that its more compact whe ni solder it?

If I understand your question correctly, then I don't see why you wouldn't be able to cut the leads.

Don't forget, solder first and THEN cut.
 
I only said that because once you cut the leads, it gets harder to secure the LED to solder it. That, and a longer lead takes some heat away from the plastic housing. Probably won't make too much of a difference though.
