Has anyone done this?
Because every VU meter used as EQ are via lpt

What I want is to connect it inside the case so I won't have to use the DB25 connector

that goes connected to line out, right?

What I want is something to connect to com1 like the project that is connected in the lpt
 
Could probably do one with a microcontroller too. They're so ridiculously cheap these days. Paired with a MAX232, you'd be set.
