Can You Use electrical Tape to connect Multiple Leds, and will it be safe... Also If I want to connect an LED that is 2V and 20 mA to the computer with standard socket.. How many leds and Which Wire Socket (Red, Black, Black, Yellow) ..

ok... stop

what are you trying to do???

wire voltage
red+adjacent black = 5v
yellow+adjacent black = 12v
red+yellow = 7v

so if you put a led in any of these it would burn like hell... unless you happen to know what a resistor is and how to use it.

restate the question.

well, if you wire up three of them together then hook it to the 5V line it might work. try searching google for how to hook up LEDs or check the FAQ. YOu would be best off buying a resistor from radio shack or something and putting that first, then each of the LEDs

Run down to radio shack and pick up some LED's. They have them in different voltages. Then you can test em out as needed. I expirimented by measuring LED's already in the case and measuring the voltage to them. For example, if you measure the voltage at the motheboard to the power led you can tap into that line and use it for another LED. Probally don't want to put too much load on it. You can't go wrong with a 12 volt led. I have a couple that I got at the shack and they work pretty well. As for smoking LED's don't sweat it, a little juice can be nice, especially first thing in the morning!

OK heres a helpful answer to your question. If you connect them in a chain (out of it don't remember parallel from series right now) as in:

black _____ ______ ____ red/yellow
(ground) U U (+voltage)

You can chain the voltages. In other words 2, 2 volt LED's hooked together like this will requre 4 volts to run 3 LED's will requre 6 volts to run. The wires on a molex as stated before are Yellow: 12 volts, Red: 5 volts, Black: ground(dosen't matter which one). If you connect 3 of these LED's together and hook it to a red and a black terminal you might get it to run a little dim. If you happen to have 6 of them you could chain them together and hook it to a yellow and black terminal and that will run as well.

Unless you need to use that many LED's for whatever the resistor idea is probably best. Oh and you can connect LED leads by twisting the ends together with a pair of pliers and tape. It just looks really crappy and you may break the leads on the LED's.
