Leaving BA and Folding

Having been in folding since the first outing using Red Hat 5.2 on a 486 (and SETI before that for Sirenita of Colombia) and having spent at least a new car's worth of money on many graphics cards that melted and what not; about 5 years ago I got so tired of being treated like a pariah on the forums, the vindictive manner in which Folding was run, that I quit Folding for Stanford. So for the last 5 years I have been Folding for points, for me. Now that PG is throwing the baby out with the bathwater I am quitting folding completely. I feel like I need a shower every time I send a workunit in...and see my electric bill. What I am amazed at is that group has no idea about "net promoter score" and that the enthusiasts they so detest are the ones who set up family and friends computers, and therefore are responsible for a LOT more folding than they themselves are doing. But I am preaching to the choir. For for the last 5 years I have been reading every post on this fine forum. (how a forum SHOULD be run, PG, take note) So thanks to Tear and Musky and and and I have built some good BA machines. Now they are sitting idle except for a few weekends. I cannot post in the for sale place, and I do NOT want to cross any lines with this forum. But I would like to see you fine people have a chance to buy 2 of my 3 BA machines. They are set up completely by the guides here....but I will not post anything until someone says it is ok. What should I do? any advice or should I put back the BIOS and part them out on Ebay?

Why can't you post them here in the DC FS/FT section? Just make sure to set up a badge per their rules and then list a DC'er price vs. a non-DC'ers price. Remember to use these FS/FT section specifically is for giving members a discount. http://hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=975902

I'm sure there are several whom may be interested if the prices are right.

On another note, have you considered possibly just migrating to another project? We are pretty active in many DC'ing projects and would be more than happy to have you join us.

Our DIMES thread: http://hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=1783466
Our DC-Vault thread (a challenge that covers several projects): http://hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=1620596

My all Inclusive DC List and we are somewhat present in all of them: http://hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=1801908

Should be fine for you to post your rigs in the DC FS/FT forum. Make sure to include your DC badge of some sort (and read the rules first). Many of us powered down at the beginning of the year for the same reasons that you are.

I did not try to post since the rules as I read them say you have to have 100 postings to qualify to post in sales. Makes sense so you aren't spammed etc. And I don't want to move to another DC project, this experience has soured me too much, and I decided the 6 or 7 thousand a year spent on this would go a long way to my daughters college which comes soon. I have DCed for 20 years....have paid my dues. Time to move on. No longer get any jollies out of it nor any feeling of contribution to the betterment of the world. Only feeding some yahoo's ego.

DC FS/FT does not have a minimum postcount limit. However, the standard FS/FT does. The forums will stop you from opening a new thread if it is against the rultes.

agree with David_Schroth, post all you want in DC FS/T, no minimum postcount rule, just badge.

I feel your pain man

I have been flatlined here for a while, this room used to reverberate with all the fans

man what did I miss?
I finally got my PPD over 5k so I could enter those give aways and now people are leaving?

testing a "badge" which I have never used anywhere before. Will be selling 2 supermicro 4p systems once I get all this figured out.
