Leaked X1950XTX Benchies

Leaked benchmarks from a system vendor. Hmmm, I think I'll take these benches with an entire salt lick. When I can see multiple reviews from several legitimate sites, then we'll talk.

Until then, this is rumor control, over and out.

wow! the X1950XTX only loses in FEAR and Doom3 and these are 1600x1200 and up resolutions. very nice.

looks good hope its true :) good thing my board is crossfire compat! :p

Excellent Stuff. Now the other problem is rising prices of the Video cards. :(

I remember when the X1900XTX was released ATi's Chairman said something to the effect that this new chip was really designed with DDR4 in mind and that there was massive improvements waiting in the wings.

Well if these numbers pan out, this new chipset from ATi really is the bees knees. Now if they can have RD600 along with this card by month end ATi looks to be a good spot.

I am definately getting one, because frankly this will do more for FPS that Conroe could ever do

AMD 939 w/X1950XTX FTW!

You can get a 512MB x1900xt for less than 300 bux on newegg.

That's an excellent price. :)

Don't forget that word came down yesterday that ATi will be price cutting its current line dramatically. :)

Just think how good this is going to be for low budget users to pick up an X1900XTX on the cheap.

never have a seen such a hardcore collection of nubs post something.

not H users. but that "artical" from daily tech.

A: the front picture was of the old HS/f, the first prototype, it has infact been changed and extended, the new one is even cooler.

B: i suspect that infact they're were having difficulties understanding how to run both GPUs. it is not plug in and ready to go, and i suspect thats only one core on the 7950GX2 that has been "benchmarked" against the X1950.

C: those results are impossible. as you said, a simple memory change? yeah right. i dont think the full impact of what GDDR4 is has fully hit anyone yet. its the link between the cache and the core. thats it. theres not a bigger chache, or a faster core, just a faster link between the two, and i dont think that information needs to be flashed that quickly. i throughly dont believe that GDDR3 provides much of a bottle neck at all.

D: totally, Canned PR speuw.

btw im a canadian with 50% of my systems using ATI cards. dont think im some Nvidia fan byoi

I agree, definitely jacked results. Daily tech really thinks those are Quad-SLI results... LOL! A single 7950 performs better than that.

To many people believe everything they see on the internet...

It's against a single 7950GX2

I highly doubt the performance difference between the two cards is as high as the graphs indicate. There are clearly some inconsistent contained therein which, in turn, cause the reliability of all of the data to become questionable.

Now, I would guess that, regardless of the obvious inconsistencies, the crossfire X1950XTX will outperform quad-SLI when taking into account that it is both a newer graphics card than the 7950GX2 and, also, that it is running on a newer chipset. As I said, though, I doubt that the differences will be that significant, but they will exist.

All-in-all, my stance is that the performance difference won't be enough to sway NVIDIA fans, only the people that always go for whichever card is fastest, regardless of brand. The latter category would include me, by the way--as I am wise.

Then again, wisdom would prevent me from making a decision of finality without reliable benchmarks. Therefore, ultimately, I am unaffected by the current benchmarks available.

Sorry, I am currently writing a paper so I am feeling a bit Sophoistic right now :D

Wow who even needs a card that POWERFUL? o_O A X1800XT Will play any game on max as it is on 80FPS. You seriously can't see the difference if your monitor can't support it. Almost 200FPS. Dang.

Why must ATI insist on adding another "X" to a chipset's label everytime they incrementally increase performance? X1950XTX; that's 3 Xs.

I once tried to find a vanilla x800 on Ebay and had to include EIGHT "-pro, -xt" etc. exceptions in order to find exclusively an x800 card..

What's next, the XFX super-overclocked X1950XTXXX, with SuperPr0n™ rendering technology?

Nvidia loyalist here, in case you couldn't tell. :D

The entire graph is questionable because it is leaked from a vendor, even I know that. But it is damn exciting to be getting something in the way of news about Ati's latest offering. Moreover who is to say this is'nt true, we just do not know yet.

Uh...the X1950XTX is the same chipset and core as the X1900XTX just with DDR4 memory and a hefty increase in its memory Mhz. That is all.

I would like to see someone here on the forums run benchmarks of those games with the same settings and similar hardware. Also, the RD600 motherboard might make a difference in results as well. I would like to see someone run a benchmark on a motherboard that supports both crossfire and SLI. Don't know if that is possible, but it would rule out the chipset in the benchmarks.

Anyone here have Quad SLI they could bench for us at those same settings?

I find ATI's naming easier than Nvidia's.

GTX/GT/GS
multiplied by
OC/superclock/KO/signature series/golden sample/extreme

and thats just from one online retailer

But back on topic I'm taking these benchies with a large pinch of salt (although ATI cards do respond well to memory overclocks)

Interesting benchies, but I'm still waiting for the real benchmarks to come from the tried and true online reviewers like Anandtech and HardOCP. Something feels fishy about those benchmarks. Most quad-SLI performance, if I'm not mistaken, is pretty lackluster. I think they should have been challenged head to head with a pair of 7900GTX's instead.

Still though, it's driving the price down of video cards. Competition = GOOD. :)

Yea I kind of went overboard. Originally I put LEAKED X1950XTX BENCHES OMGWTFBBQSAUCE!!!1111

But I thought that was a bit over the top :D

I know but the results titles suggest they aren't using sli or crossfire, maybe something got lost in translation or something :D

Yeah so whatever the issue is there are inconsistencies, so I am not putting ANY weight into these results.

Not Oblivion. ;)
The latest cards are certainly tempting but I cannot justify it when DX10 hardware is so close.

Wonder if Brent has gotten a look at this X1950 yet ? :)

1. Prove it's true.
2. My apologies, I thought people would pick up that I was referencing the chipset on the mainboard.
3. I never said the card had a different core. I said it was newer.

I just picked up a x2 4800 ( carry me till Conroe dust settles) so i will run some ne benhies tonight and post if the kids are behaving and i have time.

I will say this , Fear with a mere x23800 did well over 200fps 4x /16x ( i think is was 278 max) at naitive res and a low of just over 30 if memory serves. I believe average was somewere in the high 60's for me. When i did fear it was way back with the 91.31 unofficial.

I will go the latest Quad driver tonight and fire up fear with the 4800 x2and see what happens. I will post my findings along iwth Quake 4 . I do not have obliviion. Fear and Q4 are the only two games that fully utilize Quad ( for now) If the data is corrrect the ATI card is a good deal since it does well accross the board. Most D3D games you mine as well compare it to a sinlge 7950 since Quad wil only give you dramitic IQ improvement using 32x sli AA in those titles.

I am looking at the benchies and 48 would be for a sinlge 7950. The benchies in the article appear to be showing a single 7950............at least in fear

Jackup ran a x2 4800 and averaged 98fps 4x /16 x and i averaged 68 with a x2 3800.

Like I said , I will make a run tonight with the new WHLQ driver and see the results with an X24800 ......and rig in sig

i don't know...whopping 300 dolars just for a video card...and even that's not top of the line..

thesedays...the price of video has gone way too high..

in the days of old geforce...Geforce 3's (anyone have owned one?) launch RETAIL PRICE was like $300....and THAT was top of the line in those days..

it's funny because price of CPU has gone way down in contast..not to mention dirt cheap HDDs...

so in conclusion..i still think vid cards are too expensive..
